Me_thumb A Quick Thought

I've been listening to a little Christmas music this week that's led me to ponder a few things.

Me_thumb Half way there...

Or so they say. I can't believe we're already half-way through this pregnancy. It seems to be going faster this time.

Me_thumb Adding to my list

I'm adding (well, my midwife is adding, I should say) to my list of things I need to be doing while there's a little one inside of me.

Christmas in July

Or June or something that feels like one of those. I'm hot, very hot. I've been hot for two days straight. Like sweaty hot. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but I can't seem to cool down. It's 70 degrees here now which, needless to say is not helping my current condition. And I can't seem to understand why I am so hot. I know I'm pregnant. Maybe it's just that.

I can compare this pregnancy to the only other one I've had and I don't remember being hot. Well maybe I do, but that was in July right before my son was born. So that is why I titled this "Christmas in July."

I don't mean for this to be a complaint just a confession.

So as for the Christmas part of my title I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year. Last year we had what I called a "Dave Ramsey" Christmas. We weren't able to do very much at all for others, we did a little for Gabriel, and nothing for each other. But this year the Lord has given me grace to be creative and economical. I started earlier this year with shopping which helped tremendously. I love giving gifts to others and I like to see them get enjoyment of of what we give them. And even though we still couldn't do all that we wanted to we were able to do a lot.

It's also helpful to keep in perspective what Christmas is really all about. I'm excited about celebrating the Lord's birth this year with my family. We've been doing an advent calendar with Gabriel each night and even though he just wants the chocolate, it's a great reminder amidst the commercialization of Christmas that I can get so easily tangled up in.

And even though I hope to post before Christmas I just feel like saying Merry Christmas!
